About The ResearchersPeter Cardon, Hongqing (Vinton) Li, and Xiaodong (Doris) Ming met in 2002 when Peter was a professor at the Northeast Dianli University in Jilin, China. Vinton officially hosted Peter during his stay. Over the past 15 years, these three scholars and friends have worked hard to improve educational exchanges between China and the United States.

As a team partner, he is working with Professor Peter Cardon for intercultural research on China-US higher education exchange. His primary research interests lie in cross cultural communication and international education management in higher education. Li Hongqing is currently Section Chief of International Office at Northeast Dianli University in China, and he has been working at Northeast Dianli University for fifteen years and has visited some famous universities in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and Taiwan for work. He has received the Outstanding Awards in International Education Exchange from Department of Education of Jilin Provincial Government in 2008 and in 2012. |

Associate Professor of English Department School of Foreign Languages Beihua University Jilin City, China 132013 Email: [email protected] Education: MA, Wilfred Laurier University; BA, Beihua University Ming Xiaodong is an associate professor of English at Beihua University. She teaches integrated skills of English, English literature, advanced literary translation and Chinese masterpieces in English translation. Her primary research interests are literature and language teaching, and intercultural studies in higher education. Currently she is doing research on China-US higher education exchange in the team sponsored by Professor Peter Cardon at University of Southern California. Prior to visiting US, she has been working at Beihua University for fifteen years, and has received awards eight times for excellent teaching at the University. In 2003 and 2004, she studied in Canada and received her master degree in English at Wilfred Laurier University, Ontario, Canada. |

Associate Professor of Clinical Management Communication Email: [email protected] Education: PhD, MBA, Utah State University Peter Cardon is an associate professor in the Marshall School of Business. He has worked extensively in international education with a focus on China over the past 25 years. In 1992-1993, he taught English in Taiwan because he wanted to better understand Chinese culture. Following his teaching role, he traveled throughout China by bus, train, and boat for two months. In 1995, he taught in Hong Kong for a year. Then, in 2002-2003, he taught at Northeast Dianli University (东北电力大学). He currently takes one or two MBA groups per year to visit China and learn about doing business in China. Over the 25 years, he has visited China nearly 50 times for consulting, educational tours, and other work. He admires his Chinese students immensely and hopes to find ways to make their experiences more meaningful while in the United States. |
